A Case of Peritonitis Induced by Urinary Ascites Due to Spontaneous Intraperitoneal Bladder Rupture
Park Jin-Woo

Abstract
It is rare to find the spontaneous intraperitoneal bladder rupture cases, and they usually have causes such as bladder tumor, tuberculosis, prolonged cystitis, diverticulum, calculus, urethral obstruction, long term placement of indwelling urethral catheter and so on. A very few cases have been reported which occurred after drinking without any organic bladder problems, and its causal relationship hasn¡¯t been defined yet. Recently, a 66-year old female visited the emergency room. She drank the day before, and suddenly had pain in her lower abdomen and dysuria at dawn. Gross hematuria, ascites, peritoneal irritation sign were observed. Paracentesis was done, and the ascites examination showed the increase of creatinine level. After retrograde cystography, it was diagnosed as spontaneous intraperitoneal bladder rupture and had a laparoscopic suture repair. She progressed favorably and went home.
